Thematic Networks Symposium – ACFAS 2026

May 12 @ 8 h 00 min - 17 h 00 min

The next Thematic Networks Symposium will take place on May 12, 2026, in Trois-Rivières as part of ACFAS. This year it is co-organized by the RSN, Risbod, CMDO and ThéCell.

This edition’s theme is “Mobilize and innovate: toward an inclusive and intersectoral implementation science.”

The thematic networks program of the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) is a strategic infrastructure that strengthens coordination around research priorities and mobilizes all of Quebec’s resources to address major health challenges. Nearly 17 networks and bodies receive FRQ funding. They foster interdisciplinary and intersectoral collaboration to turn research results into concrete action, guide public policy and support clinical and community practice.

However, knowledge mobilization and implementation science (KMIS) are neither linear nor uniform: they vary with contexts, actors, available resources and disciplinary horizons. This complexity highlights the importance of documenting practices, sharing experiences and co-building adapted, inclusive strategies to reduce waste and avoid duplicated efforts.

Under the theme “Mobilize and innovate: toward an inclusive and intersectoral implementation science,” and echoing Science Without Borders, this second joint forum of FRQ networks is a space for dialogue and collaboration. Together, we will explore topics such as KMIS in digital health, public policy and translational research (non-exhaustive list), guided by the principles of equity, ethics and sustainability, as well as the following key questions:

  • What infrastructures and strategies have the networks developed?
  • What KMIS initiatives have the networks deployed?
  • What specific features or innovations can inspire other networks?

This event will be rich in exchanges and reflection, promoting inclusion and intersectorality to maximize the societal impact of research.
